How to be a Top Performer Without Being “Stuck” as a Hero

As your career grows, you’ll learn that top performance is more about working with others to achieve results as opposed to being a “hero” all on your own. Early in our careers, it’s easy to think that if you are the only one who knows a certain process, or client, that it will give you job security because the company could never survive without you. While this theoretically could be accurate, it will also limit your career growth for the exact same reasons - you can’t be promoted, because you’re the only one who knows that process or that client.
